Spotting can happen for so many reasons. Its hard to say what is causing the spotting based on how it looks. All spotting is going to look similar regardless of what is causing it. If it is due to implantation you should have a positive pregnancy test in 2 to 3 days.

Spotting or bleeding at this point of our cycles is most likely an indication of an impending period. 12-14DPO is a prime time for the onset of our periods. Most people don’t know what there isn’t a lot of concrete evidence that supports “implantation bleeding”.
