Miss diagnosis rant
This past 4 months have been crap and I need opinions. I have always bad periods, and I was raised to think it was normal, I also have inflamed follicles and cysts whenever I have had an ultrasound, I was told “it just happens probably just the stage in your cycle. It wasn’t until my 2nd that I went to someone about it. My doctor did bloods and an ultrasound and he said that because I meet all the criteria except missing periods and 2 babies with little difficulty (I tracked vigorously and used fertility gels anyway) that he believes it is PCOS. And I was happy with that diagnosis so he sent me to the gynea for review. The pain was so bad I was ready to just tell them to remove it all. When I saw the gynea she was so nice and said to me it was ALL caused from my implant put in 3 months ago and it “isnt agreeing with me” (I have had 2 implants in the past with no issue) and she said it is not PCOS BECAUSE I am having periods. So we removed it and put in the mirenna (I can’t have any other because of migraines, DVTs and family history or ovarian cancer) and she assured me it would get better and my follicles would relax. Well I was rushed to hospital 2 weeks ago and found that my IUD was clamped to my CERVIX and I had not one, not 2 but THREE MORE cysts with one in my uterus! I am on no BC right now and the cramps have come back again. So pretty sure she was wrong but we don’t have much choice of gynea where I live so advice please? Does this actually sound like PCOS to you? Surely this isn’t “just because of my cycle”.
