Birth Control (HELP)

i'm 15 and i have friends that say i should get on birth control bc i had a pregnancy scare awile back, but my mom doesn't want me to if i'm over 14 can i or can i not just go to the health department and get birth control without my moms permission or no? and if i can get without her permission should i go get it?
