I'm I being sensitive because I'm pregnant or did they go too far?

I'm a nursing student and the hospital I'm doing my placement at had a presentation about washing your hands and the dangers of not doing it. They went on and on about how dangerous it is to skip washing your hands. Then they started talking about people who died from MRSA and other infections they got in the hospital.

I had to leave because they showed a baby without any arms and legs and the baby died because she got an infection from staff not washing their hands or cleaning properly in the hospital. It was a lot to see for a presentation about hand washing and I feel like they need to post trigger warnings for stuff like that.

I understand hand washing is important, but did they really have to bring stuff like that in? I'm sure everyone is aware you need to wash your hands.
