Can I name my son after his DAD?

Can I name my son after his dad , even though his first son is named after him . 
His first son is a Jr. 
could I name him (So & So “the second) 
Example 
Dad name is Adam , dad first son is ADAM JR, 
I wanna name my first son Adam jr. or Adam II. 
Is that selfish ? Or weird

No it would be weird. your child deserves to have individuality from his other sibling. imagine how he’s going to feel about being the second Adam jr? think about your kid first not just about the name you want

Why can’t he have a different name that isn’t associated with his dad? I personally wouldn’t name my child after their parent.

Yes that is weird. Why would you name your son the exact same name as his brother? He wouldn't the the Second either, he would be the Third. Dad is Frst, Junior is Second (they are just called Jr for some reason) so yours would be Third. Give your son his own name or he will possibly hate it and be bullied when he is older. Not to mention constantly having to correct people on which brother is which when it comes to school and functions and what not.
