Am I overreacting for wanting my son out of band
My son is a senior this year and has been a band kid since 6th grade. He plays the sax and loves band. They got a new ban teacher this year and he's younger. My son left his dad in the car so I brought it to him and I hear him singing them playing their instruments and it's "Not like us" by Kendrick Lamar and it's been a popular song. It wasn't that they were playing it on instruments. That's fine. But when you hear high schoolers tell "Say drake, I hear you like em young" and the teacher not only not correct them but let them finish all the way up to the A minor part and say "Y'all are gonna get me in trouble." And laugh about it. It just doesn't seem appropriate. If he can't stop that maybe he's too young to be a band teacher. I don't want him to be in band with that teacher. My son's father said I'm overreacting because they're high schoolers and seniors. And that our son will hate me if I take him out. Well I'm a parent. Not his friend. I'm not here for him to like me. Am I maybe being too much and overreacting?
