I just took over as power of attorney for personal care for my sister but there's no one to really talk to about it. Can anyone help?

It was explained to me that I now make the decisions for her personal and medical care. The documents are all official now too. She is much older than me but severely disabled. Her dad is not in her life at all (our mom remarried my dad but didn't adopt her). My dad is not comfortable making health decisions for her because he's burnt out from caring for my mom and my mom's death a few weeks ago.

My question is: she has always gotten vaccines but I do not believe in them. Her care home called me for consent and I said absolutely no more vaccines. The nurse was kind of confrontational saying that my sister has always gotten the flu vaccine and it's always been in line with my sister's wishes.

I told her that if she knew what went into vaccines and how they were made, she wouldn't take them. I'm making the decisions now and I'm going what's best for her. I told her I don't ever want to be contacted again about vaccines and the nurse said that they can't do that and "unfortunately you have to renew your refusal annually for the flu vaccine".

Later on I got another call from another nurse who said she would like to talk about the changes to my sister's medical wishes because my sister wants to have the flu vax and I said no, absolutely not. My sister starts up with wanting the flu vaccine as soon as September rolls around and always has.

So I guess my question is... If I'm the power of attorney for medical care, why are my choices being questioned?

Edit: thanks for the comments. Some of you were actually helpful so thanks for that.

I also wanted to say that I'm new to this and none of this was really explained to me beyond saying that I make medical decisions. I'm also dealing with my mom dying and the funeral and emotions from all that. This stuff happened kind of suddenly and unexpected too. A lot of stuff was going on. No one explained to me that I should be making sure my sister gets what she wants. It was just like here's your papers for this and you have to make decisions now. No one really explained what I had to actually do.

I wish she wouldn't get the flu vaccine but it is what it is.
