When do you consider the positive OPK the start of the countdown to O?

If you have a prolonged positive opk, at which point do  you consider it to be the true positive? First positive test, or start the countdown to ovulation from the first test that is no longer positive?

Answer

Ovulation is based off of your first positive/onset of the LH surge, not the length of the surge. We usually ovulate within 12-36 hours of our first positive, so ovulation is predicted to happen the day after. They say after that would be considered 1DPO. Continuing to test after isn’t really necessary. A negative following a positive doesn’t confirm you’ve ovulated, it only means you’re no longer experiencing an LH surge.
