How I discuss bonus with boss?

I started at my job November 2023. Last Friday an email was sent out to everyone saying the bonus for the first half of 2024 will be in that check. So I look at my check and I didn’t get one. I assumed It was because I had to be there a year before I qualified so just let It go. But this week during a team meeting It was mentioned again and they said if you were employed the entire time (Jan-July 2024) you should see It in your check. I want to ask my boss about It but I feel so weird/awkward so I don’t even know how to go about doing that.

First of all, keep in mind that this is the money that you earned and you have a right to talk about it. You do not have to feel weird about it at all. Even if for some reason you didn't earn it this time around, it's OK to make sure that everything is accurate in your paycheck. I would say something like, "I didn't receive the X amount of dollars that was spoken about in the meeting. I was wondering if I was eligible to receive that? Should I contact someone in payroll?"
