Measuring ahead?

I am currently 34w + 2d but baby boy is measuring at 37w and is 6 pounds as of last Wednesday (last growth scan). My due date is technically 10/13 and my dr said they don’t change due dates this late in pregnancy and that he’s “just a big baby”. I’ve been experiencing really bad Braxton hicks/contractions since like 30w but haven’t lost my mucus plug (that I know of). Do you think baby will come early? Or is this normal? With his current measurements, due date would put me at 9/23…anyone else experience this? I also feel like my due date may have been calculated wrong…my last period was Dec 22nd.

Doctors generally go off the first ultrasound to determine your due date and it will not change throughout your pregnancy. Reason being is because the later you get, the more inaccurate ultrasounds become. All babies grow at different rates and they come when they’re ready. My first day of my last cycle was a week off from my ultrasound expected due date because I potentially ovulated earlier than expected. Best thing is to not worry about your cycle and stick to the calculated due date from the beginning.

Some babies are just big. It doesn’t necessarily mean they will come early though. Only about 50% of babies come before 40 weeks and 5 days. Thats how some babies end up being 10+ lbs at birth

That does not mean baby will come early. Ultrasound weights aren't even accurate.
