Updated-molar pregnancy?

No hearbeat at 8w today. My poor bf doesnt understand that its not gonna change. He thinks maybe the heart could start beating in the next few weeks if we wait. I dont think thats possible. UPDATE- so i looked at mychart test results. Turns out i might have a molar pregnancy (embryo turned tumor basically) any experience with what all that entails? And yes my man is very sweet hearted. Hes a little hurt now that he knows theres no chance of a baby this go around. We will be okay tho. Just more confused on what all will happen from here. I know it requires a d&c at the very least.
