How should I feel?

I've been on Bedrest since 26 weeks for shortened cervix. My mom decided to throw my shower tomorrow and I'm going on 37 weeks pregnant... My bf just announced to me that he's going two hours away to visit his family after the Babyshower & he doesn't care what I say..... Someone tell me what I should do, how I should react? Like our son can come any day now ! But he swears he's not going to come. I'm so pissed

Two hours doesn't sound far but I also understand with a shortened cervix that once labor starts it can progress very quickly! (I have an incompetent cervix) I really hope there's at least a good reason he feels he needs to go do whatever it is he is doing. But regardless, if he misses your baby's birth that's his problem to deal with. I know it isn't ideal and you'd probably really like to have him there but being there for you and baby has to be his priority. We unfortunately can't make men do what we want lol. I just hope he gets back in plenty of time before baby decides to come greet the world. Good luck momma! Regardless of him, just take care of yourself!

It doesn't sound like he worded it very well (sounds a bit rude), but in the big scheme two hours isn't that far. My hubby is going to have to travel 10-12 hrs to make it home for the delivery, and if you haven't shown labor signs yet I would go enjoy your shower and not stress over him too much.

Thats selfish....he knows you're on bedrest and still has the guts to leave you? . hes suppose to be part of this as much as you..he should be by your side showing his support

Well he said he's not changing his mind and he's going. So my advice is try not to let it stress you out. If he misses the birth of your baby he will be the one hanging onto that guilt

Here's the thing...you should feel however you darn well want to feel!! :)

My only advice would be to try to focus on the positives...your little one is still cooking (yay!), a bunch of people love you and want to celebrate you and your little one's arrival at your shower, and pretty soon, you'll be able to hug that little one and kiss their sweet cheeks!

Speaking from only my own experience, you'll probably experience a lot of different emotions over the next few weeks/months and ALL of them are ok...don't let anyone tell you differently! (And don't be afraid or embarrassed to ask for help!)
