To the women who chose to stay child free, do you regret it?

Are there any regrets you have about your decision of not having children?

Answer

I finally have a baby, I’m 40. So I can’t comment on regret personally (only to say that now I have a child, I realize it would have been the worst decision of my life not to have one). But I have a good number of friends who are past fertile age, and every single one of them regrets it. Shoot even the sales lady I just bought my car from who was 45 said she regrets only focusing on her career and not having a child. She legit teared up seeing my baby! And I have one close friend who is 65 and all her friends her age are having grandkids and she said the regret hits in even worse at that age because you are alone and your friends have weekends with a house full of children and grandbabies and lots of love. Meanwhile she and her husband are facing health issues and both somewhat depressed about the choices they made not to have a family. It makes me want to try for one more even though I’m pushing it age wise!
