Blighted ovum

Ashley

Hello! I was diagnosed with a blighted ovum 3 weeks ago. Doctors told me I’d miscarry naturally and still nothing. I’ve only had blood work done twice, the first time hcg was 138,000 and then it dropped by 10,000. I called my physician today to explain what was going on and the nurse said I’ll probably need a D&C. I do not want to have surgery so I’m hoping it’s not too late for medication. But, I’ve been testing even tho the miscarriage hasn’t started because I still “feel” pregnant and I’m having symptoms. As soon as the urine hits the test, it is so bright and instantly positive. I feel like they should be fading by now and they aren’t. So I’m at a loss, I have hope when I probably shouldn’t. How often are doctors incorrect about these things? Could I have been to early to detect a fetal pole? When I had my ultrasound to confirm pregnancy, I was technically 6-7 weeks. They saw a yolk and a sac but no pole. I also have a tilted uterus and wasn’t sure if this affects anything. This is just so confusing because my body isn’t doing what it needs to when it comes to having my miscarriage. I haven’t found a lot of info about blighted ovums and what to expect for pregnancy loss so if anyone has gone through this, what was the outcome? Thank you 😊
