Outdoors w/newborn?

When did you go outside and/or public with your newborn?

The day we came home from the hospital we stopped at the store.

My doc told me it was perfectly fine to take baby right out lol she told me it was me that needed to be inside really for a couple weeks resting and healing.

Outside like just physically outside....the day they are born. My hospital has a courtyard connected to L&D/maternity ward and i had my last baby at 11 am and we were taking a walk with them in the courtyard garden by 2pm. All my kids have been on long walks or hikes in the carrier within their first week of life. As far as out in public nit much unless I have to as I kinda hate being in public so if I don't have to I won't. My last baby was at my oldests school for a performance at 4 days old but that was a had to as I wasn't gonna miss that concert. But out in the general outside as soon as physically possible.

We usually make a stop at the store on the way home from the hospital. I have a big family. We always need things and since I’m out anyway, it makes sense.

The day we left the hospital 4 days old. We walked home (5 minutes walk)
Then we went to the shops the next day (we don’t drive so it would of been 40 mins in total out very slow walking due to c section) I got the all clear from dr to do walks and is perfectly save for newborn.
