I wanted to know is it possible to end up with diabetes for life after gestational diabetes for the 2nd time in a pregnancy? This is my 4th pregnancy and I had gestational diabetes with my 3rd. After I delivered her, I didn’t have diabetes but my numbers were always borderline close, so I was pre diabetic. Now I’m pregnant again and I can tell already my glucose test will indicate gestational diabetes because it has already been a little high in my 1st trimester. I’m afraid this time I’ll end up diabetic after the baby. Of course I don’t want to, but is there a high chance I will due to my history? What precautions can I take?
