I’ve gotten faint positives at 12 DPO with both of my pregnancies. 
I got like a shadow at 11DPO with this current pregnancy but it was super faint like, I almost just had that feeling that I was pregnant lol

It just depends on when implantation happens since that's when hcg enters your system. Implantation happens between 6dpo and 12dpo and then you need 2 to 3 days for hcg to build up enough for a test. 
I never tested before 10dpo and would get my positives between 11dpo and 14dpo.
