Is the iud a good choice ??

So I’ve found out I have nabothian cysts within the cervix & masses on my uterus that are the reasons for my intense pain during my cycle and I mean so bad I can’t move and my legs go numb I cry out in pain and no medications work . My doctor is recommending birth control specifically pill or iud but I’m absolutely not going to remember the pill so I’m leaning towards iud any advice on it before I get it ?
