Anyone else feel like there should be a separate waiting room at OBGYN?

The women who are there for miscarriage purposes have to be surrounded by pregnant woman. Just seems like they’d have separate waiting rooms like one for pregnancies and one for all other reasons like routine appointments, miscarriage,testing, etc.

No. Even pregnant women are going through something. Fertility/infertility can be triggering. It’s something we all have to deal with. I’ve been the woman newly pregnant and excited, I’ve been the woman miscarrying, I’ve been the woman sobbing in the lobby, I’ve been the heavily pregnant woman struggling through a high risk pregnancy not knowing if my baby is gonna make it. The doctor’s office and other women are not responsible for my triggers and tiptoeing around me. It sucks, but it’s a part of the process.

Na, because you can see them in the hall, outside, stores, wherever and that’s life unfortunately. The world can’t adapt to every one person’s individual feelings. Everyone has something going on inside and nobody knows their story.

My office has a seperate room. Its off to the side and very dim. They ask for those who need it to just be respectful of anyone else in there and no kids with you. Was so much easier for me after my loss. Yes i was not alone but it was calmer and more peaceful and with the dim low prange lights you couldn't really.see anytmone unlwss you really tried. I could cry without others seeing or not see a big belly. More than anything it was nice to just have a quiet place where there were no conversations if happy couples talking names and baby showers and all that. Or even worse seeing a mom with a newborn in for her post natal check. I'm sure some it wouldn't matter but many including myself and husband it was a godsend

No, not everyone can cater to you. I’ve been in the office knowing I was losing my child, I’ve been in there wishing I was the one pregnant. I’ve been in there when my child wasn’t moving and having to be monitored, and I’ve been in there with an unexpected pregnancy. I’ve been through it all. Everyone is fighting a battle YOU know nothing about.

No. You can't see it but everyone is dealing with some unfortunate circumstance in their life. As someone who's suffered infertility, loss and longed for a child, it never bothered me that everyone around me was pregnant, delivering, posting pictures of their families etc because life isn't fair and everyone can't avoid life because mine isn't going according to my desires. We have to accept we can't have it all. It is extremely sad and feels very lonely but you have to face life exactly as it is with all the gore and glory.

My office doesn't have a seperate room but if you need to for anxiety or emotions or whatever they have an option of waiting in your car and calling in to check in. A nurse texts you and you come in a back door to more isolated rooms. Most women who use it are having miscarriages or stress tests or consults for high risk or other things. I opted to use it once my last pregnancy as I had some bleeding and a history of miscarriages and didn't want someone trying to talk to me in the waiting room when mentally I needed to be left alone. My old office had something similar. I don't think seperate rooms would be feasible in a lot of places but I do think if there is something to do that can take a little anxiety or stress down offices should.

No. The separate waiting room would still be filled with women in all stages of pregnancy. My son was stillborn at 32 weeks. I was very triggered by pregnant bellies, even while I was pregnant twice more. It is so unfortunate, but so many women experience loss that it wouldn't be the solution you think it would be.

The way I see it, vet offices have more sympathy than human doctors. At most vets, when someone’s pet is being put to sleep, they light candles as a form of respect to also signal not to be obnoxiously loud and stuff when walking through the halls. So I don’t think it’s a crazy idea for doctors offices to have ways of showing sympathy for someone losing a baby either. Maybe not a separate room but there’s literally nothing at all. If we can do something for animals, we can do something for babies.

I cried after every obgyn appointment sense I miscarried my first baby I chose to do it naturally not realizing it would take a long time and I had to go back every week till my bleeding started and stoped and my blood test hcg numbers where low enough. It hurt every time going in there I always felt like I wasn’t supposed to be there but I was so happy for them and prayed they all had healthy baby’s. And I had my husband there every time to confront me. We’ve been trying sense July with no luck yet wishing for baby dust ✨✨
