I honestly feel like my mother-in-law is out to destroy my life. She invited me her son and our child to move into her house to be able to save up to buy my own house with the condition that she gets paid $1200/month to put into her saving for us. Then she kindly gave me a job working for her. Problems started 3 months later when I got tired of getting her cigarette ash on me during our car drives. She’s a heavy smoker. I didn’t say anything for 3 months. Then I got sick one day and went home after I was done with work and she got offended that I didn’t tell her I was going home. Next morning she left to work without me and I was fired without a word. The following day my husband asks her if she can talk about what happened so maybe we can work things out. She pops off on me. And tells him that I’m trying to make her stop smoking and things escalated quickly. I had to call her husband to hurry home from work because she wanted to shoot me then herself. She bruised my arm while trying to take the phone from my hand. She threatened to kill me. My husband stopped her from reaching her gun in her room. Now fast forward 3 weeks later. I haven’t stepped out of my room except for taking my son to school and back home. And now my father in law thinks it’s best we move out. Mind you I have no money to my name, no car, a 6 year old and 2 dogs. Where the hell am I supposed to go. She has literally destroyed my life. And possibly my marriage. All because of her cigarettes. Then she makes my husband feel bad about not being able to spend time with their grandson… as if she needs to be rewarded for treated me trash. My son is the only thing I have in this cruel world. I have no family.
