Christmas invitation becomes my “job”
When it comes to initiating interest to come together with my parents, it tends to fall on me. My parents hosted once the first and last Xmas dinner 2018 and that’s how they got their news we’re having a baby. And ever since then, I’m the person who always asks, should we get together for Xmas. They have declined a couple of times and a couple of times came over just for coffee. My mom says I don’t have to make such a fuss cooking and stressing over it. But I love to host, because it’s family. And my husband like it too. I haven’t asked what plans they have this time. Because I’m tired of always being the initiator and feels that it’s my obligation as their child to do so but they show no sense of interest or enthusiasm to be part of anything especially holidays. Do I just ignore it?
