I think I finally bonded with my boyfriend's child

My boyfriend has a son who I have wanted to bond with but he never seemed interested in bonding with me. He's 15 and very attached to his dad. My boyfriend told me he has trauma from his biological mom. My boyfriend's mother spoke to me to saying to basically understand what I'm in for and that her grandson will always come first and I better not abuse him etc etc. He has a lot of emotional issues that my boyfriend is usually having to wake up in the middle of the night to deal with. He's on winter break now. How we got to talking is he was writing on a piece of paper something and talking about it to his friend but his friend had to go so he got sad. I asked what he was writing and he said his ships from this show he likes. He's rating them. I'm going to be honest. I thought he was talking about real ships. I said he could tell me and then I got confused so he explained what a ship is to me. I guess a ship is a couple you think should be together whether they are canonically together or not. For a canon ship would be Cinderella and Prince charming. Not canon one would be Prince charming and Flynn rider or something. I guess he's extremely into fandoms and fanart and fanfiction. So he went on for an hour and a half about every Helluva Boss(a show) ships and where he ranks them. I won't lie. I did start to zone out but he was happy with the conversation and he showed me an episode of the show on YouTube. So I think we are improving
