My boyfriends family gave me and him a bunch of nice presents for Christmas. I’m so grateful. 
However, they gave us a card that had $600 in it and said that it was for both us. 
My boyfriend put it in his pocket and I never saw the money. 
Do you think that’s rude ? Or do you think since it’s his family, it’s not my place to say anything or have the money.

Since it was for the both of you, then $300 would go to him and $300 to you. Ask him about it.

I don’t think him putting it in his pocket is rude. whenever my husband and I get financial gifts, he always pockets it and we discuss how we’re going to use it privately after the event. I don’t think it necessarily needs to be split 50/50. But the money should go to something for the two of you like a nice date night, a new item for your living space, paying off a joint debt etc.

I would say it more like, 'thats so awesome your parents gave *us* 600 thats so generous, what should *we* do with it? Maybe a trip? Bills? Something for the home?' (Do you 2 live together?) So more like lets plan together vs gimme my 300 bucks lol
