Afraid to tell my family!

I'm going to be 39 in january and am 10 weeks pregnant. the holidays have been rough because there are always drinks and i am always partaking so hiding a pregnancy is near impossible. Tonight, somehow geriatric pregnancies came up and the family just went off about how miserable and insane that would be in our stage of life. So, how do i tell them this news in a few weeks as planned? Anyone else dealing with the geriatric stigma? How do you stay positive?
