Does the birth control pill affect your mood?

Seriously curious. Articles that I've read online say that it has little to no known evidence that it causes mood changes. But I've been on the pill for about 3 months and noticed some major differences. It's like PMS level emotions but for longer periods of time.

When I take Plan B that even changes my mood drastically. Once, (I know I'm bad but I was young) I took plan B several times within a 6 month period and my mood was evil. I'm usually a happy and very think pink person. But the hormones made me so malicious it was noticing within myself but uncontrollable. Haven't taken it since. Careful!

The pill isn't so bad but you will experience being emotional or annoyed or just in a funk. I have a implant and my mood swings are insane. It is your bodies way of getting used to the new hormones, estrogen etc. Especially estrogen, it will make u crazy lol some pills have more than others. You'll notice if u can't handle it anymore.

It is messing with your hormones so of course it can affect your mood.

My SO swears I've changed since I took bc. I feel like even my sex drive kind of faded also. Before bc, I had such a high sex drive. Now I'm just like eh.

When ur on the pill dose it stop ur period? I have wanted to know but have been afraid to ask cause the only person I know that has been on it was my mom and I don't want to get into a conversation about that with her

Yes! Trust me! They don't agree with some people! I tried 10+ different pills but hormonal BC doesn't agree with me! It's normal don't worry! 😃

When I first started my birth control pills and was adjusting, I would cry at the drop of a hat. I still cry more easily now, but it has leveled off. I think the pills actually have improved my mood since my PMS symptoms are not as strong now.

It's really hard to measure things like that since many people will blame medications for problems that may have occurred regardless but there I no way of knowing. (Happens with weight gain and infertility too)

In my opinion the pill can affect your mood but not as much as people think it does.
