How do I know when to take a test?

Hi! I had Twins in February 2024 and I got an IUD in April but I got it taken out in December. I still haven’t gotten my period. I am still nursing. And I can’t seem to find anywhere that can help me understand what’s going on? Should I take a test just to ease my mind? Or would that be a waste of a test?
If anyone has any ideas or thoughts, they would be appreciated!!! Thank you!

You can test if you’d like but your period could be missing for several reasons. You’re breast feeding which can pause a cycle for the duration of bf or your body is trying to adjust to being off the bc.

Your breast feeding could be delaying your cycle restarting. A lot of women experience no periods for the duration of their breast feeding, whereas some others have periods the whole time. Your body could also still be adjusting to coming off the birth control. It hadnt been a whole month yet if you just got off of it in December. It can take a while for your body to regulate itself and your cycles to restart. You can always call and ask your lady doctor if youre concerned.
