What are your work meeting pet peeves

I hate this so much. We had a whole meeting yesterday that went on for an hour and a half. I'm a work in headstart and I have the 4 year olds. I hate more than anything when the meeting is over and they ask anymore questions. Nobody raises their hand. We think we can go. Then there's that one person with a stupid fucking question. They told us when we are filling out paperwork to only use a black or blue pen. This lady raises her hand. They said this about 20 minutes ago and of course when they're about to let us leave she raises her hand. "So about the paperwork thing. Can I use a red pen?" Girl! She's told no. Black or blue. Okay now we can leave. Raises her hand again "What about a black gel pen?" They tell her no a regular black or blue pen. Can we leave now? This bitch raises her hand again. "Well why?" So we have to stay behind and extra FIFTEEN MINUTES while they argue over a fucking pen. I wanted to kill her!

When 2 or 3 people end up discussing something at great length that has zero to do with anyone else in the room, so they really should have just scheduled their own separate meeting.

Meetings to discuss the meeting. No, we just had the meeting, we don’t need to meet about what happened in the meeting. Drives me up the fucking wall. my dept has a big weekly meeting and then my boss likes to meet with us individually to discuss what happened in the meeting. It’s such a huge waste of time.

My job once had an all employee meeting (roughly 60 people on my shift) in the middle of our busiest work day just to tell us that we would be having an all employee meeting the next day..... mind you, we had a daily start up meeting that morning that they could have told us at but nope.

Meetings that easily and should have been an email. Or meetings just to have meetings. I had a boss once who was young and honestly shouldn't have been in his job (nepo hire) and would call meetings basically to remind us he can and we cant and that he calls the shots. Congrats on making yourself feel important but can I go finish my damn report lol

I can see how that’s annoying. My pet peeve is when it goes longer than what is slotted for. Like 30 mins meeting turns into an hour meeting. If it’s work topics then I’m ok with but if it’s people just being chatty with their coworkers about life outside of work then that’s when I just want to leave. I work from home so it’s harder to have that connection with people. My boss wants people to have the connection (which I get) there are days when I just want to hang up the phone and get back to work. I have to much to do.
