Nitrous Oxide During Labor?

Has anyone here tried Nitrous Oxide for pain relief during labor? If so, what was it like? I had an epidural with my first child. I'm considering using only IV pain medication & Nitrous Oxide for my 2nd birth. I want to know what others have experienced using it.

I used the nitrous for two of my hospital births. My first birth it definitely helped take the edge off. My nurse helped me monitor my contractions and got me started on it once it was time so that I was able to stay ahead of the pain a bit. The only downside was I hemorrhaged after birth and at that point it hurt so bad that I felt like I needed something more than the nitrous. My third birth I used it again and it worked great. I’ve had two births without it or any other pain relief and it was fine. The thing I didn’t realize going into it, was that you don’t get it during delivery. So when they took it from me during the most painful part of labor and delivery, I was super upset. But I guess it made sense looking back at it.

I have used it, I didn't find it particularly helpful to be honest. But I know others who have and loved it!
