Last year my son’s first grade teacher sent home an optional project to build a leprechaun trap for st Patrick’s day. We absolutely did it, and it was a blast, and my kid was SO excited to not only work together as a family on something, but also show his friends the cool trap we made. I do a lot of ‘optional’ parent/family projects. Including 200+ hours of volunteer work a year. It’s almost always worth it.

We always do the projects that are sent home from school even when they are optional. It is fun and a good learning and bonding experience.￼ Trust me it's worth it to make a little bit of time for stuff like this. ￼
