I woke up during surgery

This is so weird and I’ve debated on even telling a soul because I don’t want to get anyone in trouble, to be honest I’m not even sure what happened. As soon as I was rolled back into the OR they said “this is just something to calm you down.” And shot me in the arm with a needle even though I already had an IV in? I know they did because I still had a bandaid there later and a bruise when I woke up. They didn’t warn me or tell me what It even was and I didn’t get the time to ask “why do I need to be “calmed down” when I’m being put under anesthesia.”

All I could say is “my face is burning.” And they put the mask over my face, I started falling asleep but my face!!! So I pushed the mask off again and said “MY FACE IS BURNING!” And then I was out.

I swear to you on my life, I could feel my face burning while under. I woke up and could smell metal, I could hear metal things hitting maybe the surgical instruments? I felt them inside of me but they didn’t hurt, it was a pain I was barely registering. It wasn’t horrible and traumatic. My FACE THOUGH? I reached up to the lady above my face and said “MY FACE IS BURNING.” Literally screeched it out of my lungs as hard as I could so I would be fucking heard. Had crap all in my mouth and throat but she was gonna fucking hear me out.

ONCE AGAIN! She looked at me horrified and I was immediately back under. I then woke up in recovery in so much pain from the surgery itself, but no burning face, and then I went back to sleep or just had the anesthesia wear off, I got up and it was manageable pain. Went home. Forgot about the burning face incident. Nobody said anything to me about it, but I really need to know what they injected into my arm that burned my face so bad??? Does anyone have an idea?

I’m not traumatized or trying to sue I just need to know for future reference so that never happens to me again. I consider myself extremely lucky that my burning face is what hurt most.

Again I did not imagine this, the bandaid was on my arm after surgery and it even left a bruise.
