Long distance

I've been daiting my bf for a year and 7 months now.  It's about a 8 hr drive between us. When were together he's my dream guy and so talkative and perfect but for some reason when we text he responds one word slot and can be dry  and I know he dosent mean to and he loves talking to me. He's always been like this and it's getting annoying since we're long distance and it's the only way we can talk in between seeing each other. He loves me a ton and I love him a ton it's just annoying what do I do ?
