3 or 4 kids??

Question

For the parents with 3-4 kids.. my third baby (our first son) just turned a year old this past weekend and my SO has been saying since the day he’s been born that he wants him to have a little brother. Now I know there is no guarantee in that at all but it’s been running through my head a lot. By the time I’d want to maybe try again my oldest would be 11, my second would be 8 and then our youngest would be 2.5. My first two pregnancies were great and no issues. My third pregnancy was just all around harder on my body and I had a lot of issues with high blood pressure which scares me. So I guess I’m asking how did everyone handle 4 kids? How did you make your decision on wanting more? I’m so torn, and quite frankly I know I’d get backlash from people in our family since I’m a SAHM and my SO is the only one who works. People ask me all the time if we’re done now and honestly, it feels so hard to say that that chapter of my life is over.

I feel so content with 4, it's what we always wanted. I thought we were done at 3 tbh but the 4th surprise was awesome in the end. You learn a lot of tricks juggling 3 that you can put into play with 4 lol. Your age spread sounds like you will have lots of help and a playmate for your 3rd. :)

Tbf my 4th was completely unplanned I’d recently started a new job so when I got home I never really had any time to do the deed with having to get my other kids ready for bed while I myself and him were tired from work the month I got pregnant my period was messed up due to having Covid the month prior so my whole cycle was thrown into unknown days we did the deed once the month my 4th was conceived and from I know it wasn’t even On a fertile day I tracked ovulation as we didn’t want another baby just yet and we also wore a condom so imagine the shock I realise my period hadn’t shown up and to get a positive test in
Tbf my 4th pregnancy was my hardest mentally they found a bleed at 6 week and I started bleeding at 7 weeks which resulted in me having to take a week off of work on sick leave then my mental health took a huge hit I’d breakdown over the thought of leaving my house so I couldn’t go to work I couldn’t even pick my kids up from school couldn’t really go anywhere by myself without nearly panicking I also have this weird thing that started happening in my 2nd pregnancy where I cannot be inside any shop or public place for longer then 10 mins without feeling like I was gonna faint and it was so bad with my 4th pregnancy to the point I was down as sick from work from 16 weeks up until 29 weeks until I was able to take maternity leave further on I got in the pregnancy the more it effected me I’d find myself crying over the thought of oh no what if the baby died or if I die and it was a constant worry to the point I was even asking for a cesection because my unlogical brain just wanted my baby out of me to know he was ok in the end I opted for being induced at 39 weeks which I didn’t need as he was born in my bathroom unexpectedly at 38+5 took a good year for my mental health to fully recover to the point I can go out by myself I’m now currently 6+2 with my 5th (8th pregnancy tho) and hoping and praying I do go thru what I went thru with my 4th again in this pregnancy

When I was being pulled towards having another my husband said it was only because our youngest was getting older.  So I put it on the back burner but the next year came and I still had this feeling that we were missing one more.  After months of conversations with my husband and therapist and anyone who was in my life basically, we decided to go for it.  If you’re feeling pulled toward another one I say absolutely go for it.  I was so unsure for a long while whether it was the right choice but I can definitely tell you now that it is!  I knew i was t done having babies.  And now that we are pregnant with our first I know that this will be my last.  When you know, you know.

Firstly, don’t decide on not having/having more kids because of what other people think. If you want another baby, have another baby. It’s not up to anyone else. 
I’m a mom of 5 soon to be 6. I’m an only child and my husband grew up with 11 siblings. Totally different 😅
We just knew we wanted more and weren’t done so we had baby #4 and then decided on baby #5. Baby #6 was a surprise as I was on birth control. We were shocked but became very excited. 
We have a 10 year old, 9 year old, 6 year old, almost 4 year old and almost 2 year old.
