Is it wrong that I don't put Miss/Mr in front of last name for teachers younger than me

I'm almost 50 and going through menopause. I have been a teacher for 26 years. I teach middle school pre algebra and I love my colleagues. However I don't like referring to younger people as Miss/Mr blahblahblah. I still call them by their last name. If their last name is Smith I just call them Smith. If they are in their 40's than sure I'll call them Mr. Or Miss. I'm not calling a 22 year old Mr. Or Miss. We are not equals in that way. I expect the kids to because they are their elder. I guess someone heard me talk about that in the teachers lounge and "offended" some of the younger generation of teachers. I still respect them. We just are not equals. I'm a senior teacher and some of these 24 year olds are on their first years teaching. We are not on the same wave length.
