Sludge in Amniotic Fluid

Anxiety is on full force 24/7.

Before I got pregnant with this precious babygirl we had three back to back miscarriages. My first was sept 2023, my 2nd was July 2024 and my most recent one was Nov 2024, I got pregnant on my first cycle after the last miscarriage which was in December 2024.

My pregnancies are high risk as it is especially now on top of having recurrent miscarriages.

So anyway…. This pregnancy we’ve had a SCH that resolved on its own, we had a vanishing twin then we also had some unexplained bleeding around 11 weeks and it was quite heavy that lasted a few days!

Right after the bleeding stopped I got into a pretty awful car wreck that left me with a fractured spine, prolonged concussion, and many more health issues.

Our anatomy scan showed a healthy babygirl everything looked good! My cervix was measuring a little short but not too short and my cervix was closed which was really good.. but I was called in for another scan the following week to recheck my cervix length. my cervix was measuring longer and it was still closed. They didn’t see any “U” shaping around my cervix but they did see “Sludge”. Which has me sooooo worried 😭💔 My anxiety has been so awful this pregnancy and now learning about the sludge has me even more worried. My doctors had said since my cervix was measuring at a good length & there was no “U” shaping around my cervix and I’ve been on progesterone since I hit 5 weeks gestation they aren’t very concerned. They think it’s from the SCH because as far as we know I don’t have any of the infections that can cause sludge other than having a positive test for Group B strep. They also said with the positive signs of a closed cervix, no U shaping, my cervix measuring above 3.8cm that they would see me again in 4 weeks. They mentioned if they were more worried that they would have me going in sooner then 4 weeks after my last scan. I guess that’s a good sign right?

My question is have any of you ladies had this issue with having “sludge” in your amniotic fluid with no signs of preterm labor if so can you tell me your experience and what precautions you took to get to at least 37 weeks? What symptoms did you have?

Good or bad experiences I would like to hear them so I know what the possibilities are.

Babygirls heart rate has been normal, and movements have also been normal!

I would also appreciate prayers because my anxiety is through the roof. Which I know isn’t good and I definitely try all my coping skills to help with the anxiety!
