Advice on living alone?

I’m about to be staying at my apartment and I realized I need something for protection just in case. It’s me and my toddler. Also do you like living alone with your kids?

Get some type of camera like a ring or a blink so you can see who is at your door without having to open it. They’re pretty cheap & easy to mount. If you chose to get a gun (I would) go through a concealed weapons course even if you don’t need a permit. It’s educational & it’ll get you familiarized with shooting. Don’t just buy a gun, shoot it once, & then throw it in a safe. Make sure you’re comfortable & confident in shooting it & staying proficient. I’d personally recommend a Glock 43. Easy to conceal if you decide to ever keep it on your person. Get a biometric safe. You could also look in to getting a dog if you have the time, money, & are allowed to have pets.

if you decide on a gun, make sure it’s in a locked box!!! they have some that are incredibly quick to open, it’ll only take your fingerprint so it’s kid proof. i like being alone with my kids but it tends to get freaky at night sometimes. i like knowing that i can protect us though. a security system would be nice

I have two things, a hammer and a baseball bat with a sock on it. In different rooms so that I have it if I need it. Hopefully we do not ever need them. And yes, I love living with just me and my daughter. ￼

Get some extra screw type locks at your hardware store for sliding windows and sliding doors. If not, get some sturdy pieces of wood and put them in the window or door sills. I agree with a firearm and box. Keep it up high out of easy reach.

I don't live alone but i am alone most of the time.. i think self defense classes are good. I want my daughter to attend when she's a little bit older.
