birth story as a first time mom.

on january 31st at around 3pm i went to the hospital thinking i was in labor. once i arrived they took forever to even check me and when they did i was only 2cm dilated , they told me to walk for an hour and bounce on a ball, but other than that they said i wasn’t actually in labor and the nurse had told me i was not allowed back until my water broke keep that in mind.

that night at about 11pm my contractions started progressing and getting more painful. everyone was asleep i was completely alone. at around 1am i called my mom multiple times until she woke up and i was talking to her having a normal conversation trying to distract myself from the pain, i was walking around as well (the nurse told me i wouldn’t be able to talk or move if i was actually in labor). i went to pee still otp w my mom and started throwing up leaning over the bathtub and she told me i might have to go to the hospital and i told her my water didn’t break yet like the nurse said. i hung up and went back to my room and continued to go through more hours of active labor completely alone because i didn’t want to wake anyone up for no reason as i thought i wasn’t on labor. my boyfriend had work on february 1st and i didn’t wanna make him lose sleep for no reason so i just didn’t wake him up. at around 6:30am he woke up for work and saw me on all fours breathing deep breaths and sweating half naked and he had told me he can’t leave me alone like this and had a gut feeling to stay home that day. so we just went in the bathroom and i sat in the tub letting cold water run while he sat on the toilet making sure i was okay. i then had a strong urge to “poop” i genuinely thought it was poop. mind you my water never broke. i started pushing my poop in the tub because i was in so much pain i couldn’t get to the toilet i couldn’t move. i did one hard push with my eyes closed thinking i was constipated and i opened my eyes and saw a trail of blood and my bf called my mom and showed her and she said call 911. skip to the 9 emts in the bathroom , my mom wasn’t there my bf couldn’t be in the bathroom because it was to small and the emts needed space, i had no one. they said she was already crowning and i had to start pushing. i pushed her out in less than mins she was born at 7:52 am 2/1/25. i basically went through 8 or more hours of labor alone and birth alone. they rushed me to the hospital but she was completely healthy and i would do it all over for her again.
