Resturants with 15 month old

Question

Hello, what are ways you keep your 15 month old occupied at resturants without screens? Are there any travel size learning toys? We dont use screen but i feel like there are times were we are close to pulling it out.  Love to hear what yall recommend!

We just talk to our kids. Same as any other dinner at home. At 15 months we might bring Cheerios or something to put on the table until food comes. But by 2 1/2-3 they were ordering their own drink/meals. If there’s a crayon available we play games. My kids also love eye spy or guessing games.

I always immediately order my toddlers food with the drink order. When he was younger we had suction cup spinning toys that worked well at restaurants. Now we just color or bring a small car.

Have a tiny kit (eg pencil case) of toys or chubby crayons that are only for restaurants. That way it's always 'new' whenever you go out.

We bring my son (2.5) a couple of just his normal toys. Sometimes he brings a couple of cars or small little figures to play with. We also ask for a kids menu for him so he can color or scribble on the page. Sometimes I draw pictures for him. We also make sure that the children's food comes out at the same time as ours. Even if I have to take a couple of minutes getting him settled with his food it's better if we all finish eating closer together. I found that when our toddlers food was brought out first they would get bored waiting for us to finish eating. My son is my 3rd so he does have older siblings to help keep him entertained also. We did the same for our older 2 children though.
