10 day period?

I started taking birth control around a month ago on the first day of my period. Before I started taking the pill, my cycle was about 21 days long and my period lasted for about 7 to 8 days.. My period only lasted about 4 days once I began taking it... I was about to finish the first pack, but even before I got to the placebo pills, I started my period again and it lasted for 10 days; is this normal..? I'm 17 by the way and I got on birth control to stop having so much bleeding

Yeah, the pill is known for fiddling around with your cycle... For example I started taking it for almost a month, and then my mother got into my head and said it can trigger cancer and all this etc... So I just stopped taking it.. ( didn't really matter, I wasn't taking it as birth control anyway lol so all good) And when my period came it decided to stay for ten days... When usually it likes to stay for only seven days... But as I said it's definitely known for tampering with your cycle due to the hormones Been changed around and what not... Don't worry too much about it. As you probably already know the pill is not just used for birth control.. It's used to regulate periods when a woman suffers from irregular periods... So it plays a big part with your hormones... Give it time Hun your periods should start to become regular in no time x.

I was in the exact same situation about 4 months ago, I had insanely irregular bleeding and my doctor told me it was completely normal and that it could take months for my cycle to become regular again, so I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you :)
