Nipple piercings and breast feeding?

Ive had my nipples pierced for about 2 years now. And i recently found out im pregnant. I was just wondering if anybody had the same experience, if their holes closed? If you had to reinsert the jewellery after every feeding session? Is it more painful? did you just have to leave them out ? how long did they take to close ?

From reading about it, there should be no affect on your ability to breastfeed. You will have to take them out each time (so the baby can latch on) but if you've had them pierced for two years, there shouldn't be any pain putting them back.

Newborns eat a lot so you may want to mostly leave them out early on, periodically threading them through to avoid closure. You can also use a taper.

Be wary of engorgement and plugged ducts.

It is best to use titanium, nickel-free gold, platinum, niobium or surgical stainless steel jewelry. Keep your jewelry and holes clean and sterile.

I have just one of my nipples pierced(long story, it's cute) anyway and I can't even get it off and I really don't want too.

I just left them out, it's annoying to take them out and put them back in every couple of hours.

Milk will come trough the holes.

I had mine pierced before my first daughter but took them out when I found out I was pregnant. They healed super quickly and I had no problem breastfeeding
