Measuring ahead?

Question

Today I went to my 31 week check up and the doctor said the baby was measuring "a few ahead". I'm not sure what exactly that means but she felt around my stomach for a few moments and then ordered an ultrasound for next week to check on the baby. Has anyone else had this happen and what could it mean? Should I be so worried?

I am 33 weeks and measured 36 weeks today. Had an ultrasound sound to check baby size and fluids. Everything was perfectly normal!

I went for my 30 week appointment today and my dr said I was measuring at 33 weeks. He seemed to act like it was normal and nothing to be concerned about. He said a normal range of 2 to 3 weeks around the actual amount of weeks along you are is normal. I'm just wondering now if my little one will arrive a little earlier than expected!!

The annoying part is, the vagina can typically push out a big baby. Yeah, you might tear a little, but I'd take a tear over a csection any day. My first baby was 8.5 lbs and I'm hoping this baby stays under that. But this time I have Gestational diabetes so the size tracking will start soon. My belly has measured normal though so I hope it stays that way.

I've had two growth scans already. If the baby measures 2 or more (usually more) weeks ahead then they will most likely send you for an ultrasound to get babies measurements. They do this just to prepare for anything that may come up with having a big baby. Such as shoulder dystocia or needing a c section.. But remember it's only informational!! Ultrasounds are not 100% correct with babies weight. They told my sister her baby was going to be 9 lbs and that she needed a c section and he was only 8.

At my 28 week appointment my bump was measuring 31 weeks and at my 30 week appointment my bump was measuring 33 weeks. The midwife said anything over 2-3 weeks warrants a growth scan. I wouldn't be too worried love, just means you're doing really well at growing your baby!

Im 30 weeks measuring 37 weeks doc said its cause my baby is about 10 oz above normal weight and my amniotic  fluid is high. I have gd so i get an ultrasound  every month to check growth
