Birthing pool?!? Yes or no

Question

My midwife has said I should try the birthing pool as it is a great source of pain relief as I'm really struggling with my back - has anybody used it and can tell me about it?? Thanks

Your midwife is so right!! I gave birth to my middle child in a birthing tub. It was amazing. Great tool for relaxation. And it did feel wonderful for my back. My favorite birth so far. I can't have one in my home where I am now and it makes me sad. Will for sure be using my shower and tub in labor though. 
I would say at least give it a try. If you don't like it you can always get back out. 
That birth was also my easiest recovery. Not totally sure it's connected but she was still right at 9lbs and the labor was 42 hours. So it wasn't an easy delivery overall.
