Pregnancy and depression?

I recently had to give my new puppy away since my apt neighbor's complained about us having a pitbull when they aren't allowed. It might sound odd but I feel I'm falling into a depression cuz of it. I'm 31 weeks and I don't know if it's the baby or my excessive crying but now I have rib pain but am worried that my sadness can have an effect on the baby. The last thing I need ontop of this is to have my baby be born sick because of me...anyone suffer from depression? Or just REALLY sad? I don't even know how to address it to my dr without sounding stupid. 😞💔

I think you should say to your doctor exactly what you said on this post. Depression is terrible and can be debilitating if you don't get a handle on it. I know how much it sucks. The hormones could definitely be playing a major roll but I would never just excuse it because of that. Try distracting yourself with activities or things that you like to do (any mindless activities like coloring, crocheting, baking, etc etc might help too). But you definitely need to bring it up to your doctor. It's good that you're identifying it now, though! Your baby will be fine while its inside you but you're always at a risk for postpartum depression which can indirectly hurt baby. I know you don't want that!! If it makes you feel any better my husband was tickling me yesterday and I cried because I skinned my knee. It didn't even hurt. I don't feel like "end of the world sadness" but I definitely cry over something I would have thought was silly at least once a day/every other day. And I have the opposite- rage! I feel like I'm breathing fire over the silliest things too. I know there is only 8-9 weeks left so I'm trying to hang in there but the emotions are giving me a stinking headache on top of my four kids to watch. I think it's because I'm pregnant with a girl. I was never this emotional with my boys- ever!

It might be depression, but it's probably hormonal. Having to give up a puppy is hard even when you're not pregnant.
