Does this look like an infected umbilical stump? I'm a FTM so I'm not sure what to expect or how to help it. Any help would be nice

My sons was irritated and still had a small piece stuck to the skin which kept getting caught. Our Dr put silver nitrate on it at his 2 week appointment and a few days later it was all cleared up and no more cord pieces

My daughter's looked exactly the same way. She ended up losing hers later on that day when she was one week.

No it doesn't what I would put on my baby's cord was alcohol with a cutip around it but I would still recommend to have you doc take a look at it 😉

I would have a Dr look at it... Just to be safe... I always soak a cotton ball in alcohol and soak the whole area... Not just a q tip wiped around the area.

It looks like it's oozing. My advice is take the baby to your dr and have them check it out.

that was my little guys looked like as it started to fall off. then the wet tissue that was under scabbed then fell off a couple days after that! never hurts to check but it looks okay to me!
