God parents...

I'm a new mom to be and I was wondering if you really need to have God parents to my child.. My fiancé and I pick out the God parents but lately they have been acting really immature and distant from us and acting like they no longer want to play the role of God parents.. Do I need to have some or can I not? I don't want to offend them. Any advice would be great!! Thank you!
