Has anyone been treated for Subclinical Hypothyroidism?

Hi, I'm 10w5d pregnant. I have high TSH values but normal T4.

So, now my current TSH has come down to 7 from 12. Doc recommended to take 100 mcg. Does this affect the baby yet? Anyone who has experienced it?

I had this and i am on thyroid meds. My baby is completely healthy. Thyroid meds are class a medications. If you dont take the medication then the babies brain and CNS can be stunted and baby may not form correctly.

I get blood tests every 6 weeks my last one my thyroid was 2.

I know this is old post. But I’m in same boat. TSH 13 and T4 levels normal. Dr called it subclinical hypothyroidism and it’s linked to no adverse outcomes. Apparently it’s very mild. How did everything work out? Not sure if they are gonna recommend me see an endo or not yet. I’m 12 weeks

This is an old post but did your doctor put you on meds for high tsh with normal T4? My doctor says if I take meds my T4 will go high and give me a hyperthyroid so he says no meds.

It would affect the baby in a lot of nasty ways if you don't accept the treatment!

I take thyroid medication always - including during pregnancy.  I have 2 healthy children and one on the way.  My OB and Endocrinologist both recommend medication (stnthroid) to ensure you maintain normal levels throughout pregnancy.

If your thyroid hormones are off, that could harm baby. As long as they monitor your values closely, I would think it is safer to take the meds to regulate than to skip them. I am no doctor though, so maybe you should voice your concerns to your healthcare provider and see what he/she says about it.
