Why don't you want to get married?

Is there more to it then just not wanting to or is it just thst simple you just don't want to. No need for rude comments I'm just curious. I know some people just dont want to or don't believe in marriage.

For me, it's not that I don't WANT to, it's that I don't feel the need to. And most of the time I just feel like I'm too much of a free spirit to get tied down my marriage. Hell sometimes I feel tied down just by being in an actual relationship.

If I started dating a guy who wants to get married then I think I'd go for it after some thought . . . But I wouldn't really ever bring it up or ask for it.

My parents have been together for 30 years and never married until it made sense for tax reasons about 2 years ago, and they have one of the healthiest relationships I've seen. I don't consider it an important thing to do, but if my partner did I would do it for them.

I always thought I never want to get married cause I watched my parents go through nasty divorces and why get married if your just going to get divorced anyways but now I look at it like if your brave enough to marry me you better be brave enough to know your not getting a devorce. We're in this for the long haul. It's so sad that divorce is so common now. I want that 50 year old marriage and I want my kids to be proud of their parents and want the same kind of relationship when they get older.

😂I often enough have to keep my flighty side from whisking me away from my current serious relationship. Marriage is a completely new and more inescapable path. It's not that I don't love the guy, or love the idea of living with him and sharing a life, I simply don't like the finality of marriage. It isn't the freedom that I know I love more than my partner, and always will. 
He's expressed a want to marry me however😐.

I'm ambivalent to marriage. It's not really a requirement for me. If I'm in a stable and committed relationship that's enough. I don't need a marriage certificate to validate that. I'm not necessarily against marriage I just don't care.

Its not that I don't want to, because I do. He's my fiance. But something about changing my name is hard to think about. And to him hyphenating isn't an option.

I have seen way too many divorces and some were horribly nasty. It's just not my cup of tea. I've seen more couples last longer and seem to be truly in love that aren't married than those who are.
My SO and I agree that we don't want married.

I guess it's just not really a requirement for either of us. We talk about marriage occasionally, but we're not racing to the alter or anything. Maybe one day? Who knows. I just don't really care to marry right now. Now if I had hit the Powerball... We may have taken a vacation to Puerto Rico and eloped on the beach. 🤑🏝😂

It's not like I'm against it or anything, its just it's not a necessity of mine. In my opinion it is just a piece of paper, it does not have any special powers in my book, and personally I don't need a piece of paper proving I'm committed to him. But he wants to get married so we will, eventually...already been together 10yrs, why not wait another 10 lol jkjk
