Discouraged after IUI

Jenny • TTC almost 1.5 years now. I`m 37 & husband is 35. First pregnancy for us both. Praying for a miracle!
Had my first IUI this past Friday. Leading up to the procedure, everything was perfect. Once they started, however, the doctor hit a wall - literally. What should have taken 15-20 minutes lasted almost an hour an a half. I know I have cervical stenosis. What I didn't know is that my uterus was tilted creating a ridge that was extremely difficult to get over. I was pretty exhausted and dazed after all was said and done so I zoned out when the doctor explained there is a surgery I can have to reduce the size of the ridge. Is anyone familiar with what that is? I'm discouraged because I would think after 3 days I would feel differently had the procedure been successful. So now I'm in the frame of mind surgery is inevitable before another IUI can happen. Any thoughts?
