Ovulation test help!

Hey, I'm new to ovulation tests. I tested yesterday morning and got a rather faint line, then tested this morning and just now and got absolutely no line. Is it normal for ovulation tests to not get increasingly darker? And when glow asks about an lh surge, do I only answer yes when the test line is the darkest? Any advice or info is appreciated!
