First time moms, how did you prepare?

How are the other first time moms prepping to know what to do when you bring the baby home? Are you reading books or just gonna wing it?

I've done research on certain things online like breastfeeding and asked friends who have kids...but mostly winging it! Motherly instincts will kick in and come naturally

We are winging it.  However I have been around many many newborns.  So pretty familiar on how to take care of them.  Thinking about getting my husband a book though!

My SIL who is also a pediatrician gave me this book. I'm waiting till my 3rd trimester to read it but feel confident recommending it now bc her husband read it to get ready.

I'm doing some reading but my husband has had many kids before we got married so I'm relying on him for help!!

I'm just going to take all the advice I can from my doctor and nurses, lactation consultants, what have you. I plan to take a few classes just to learn how to swaddle and breastfeed, but winging it other than that. Though I have read a few articles from moms on after birthing, what to have in your hospital bag, how to make padsiciles. Pinterest is great for those. But the books freak me out.

I was 19 years old when my first was born. I did not read any books. I don't regret it all. I winged it and even at 19 I knew what to do.
