Eggs???

Question

Is it safe to eat farm fresh eggs when you are pregnant? For some reason I've been craving eggs and was wondering if farm eggs was unhealthy because of salmonella. I mean I know they have to be fully cooked and all. Just wondering.

We have chickens and I ate our eggs through both pregnancies. Didn't have a problem. just have to make sure you rinse the shell off before cooking the egg, and once you do cook, make sure the egg is cooked thoroughly and that there is no runny part. The safest way to eat them is hard boiled or scrambled.

It is actually the shell that carries salmonella. I would stay away from them, but if you do eat them, I'd wash them really really well before cracking and cooking.
